This year’s International Fair for Livestock and Poultry, Zootechnia, was held for the 13th time in Thessaloniki, with gaia EPICHEIREIN giving a dynamic ‘presence’ in the four-day exhibition event. Its presence attracted the interest of the agricultural world, who specifically visited the booth to learn more about the actions and opportunities offered by the company.
Stand 7 of Pavilion 8, where the company’s representatives were located, attracted the interest of farmers, senior executives of leading companies in the sector, and representatives of the government and, of course, the political scene. In particular, the pavilion was visited by Mr. K. Tsiaras, Minister of Rural Development & Food, Mr. D. Stamenitis, Deputy Minister of Rural Development & Food, Mr. F. Pappas, Member of the New Democracy in the constituency of Thessaloniki, and Mr. S. Arnaoutoglou, Member of the European Parliament of PASOK.

In this context, gaia EPICHEIREIN presented the proposals concerning agri-food, which aim to help the farmer to upgrade and manage better and more rationally his agricultural and/or livestock farm.

In the framework of the COOPinCAP project, two flash events were held at the company’s stand on Saturday 1/2/25 by Ms. Irini Prodromidou, who represented the Department of Development Project Management of gaia EPICHEIREIN. She analyzed the new Strategic Plan CAP 2023-2027 in the framework of which interventions aimed at the economic support of Greek livestock farming have been designed.
These interventions aim to create sustainable farms, enhance competitiveness, and produce healthy & high nutritional value products while contributing to the achievement of environmental and climate objectives at national and European levels. Interventions – support for Greek livestock farmers is foreseen under Pillar I (Direct Payments) and Pillar II (Rural Development Programme).

Once again, Zootechnia marked the developments in the livestock-farming sector and gaia EPICHEIREIN was an integral part of it, confirming the importance of the exhibition in a particularly critical period for the sector and giving the impetus for the beginning of a new, digital era for all those involved.
