Livestock farming is one of the most important sectors for Greece, regarding the economic, environmental and social development of our rural areas. In the new CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027, interventions aimed at providing economic support to the Greek livestock sector have been designed.
The interventions aim to create sustainable farms, enhance competitiveness and produce healthy and high nutritional value products, while contributing to the achievement of environmental and climate objectives at national and European level. Interventions – support for Greek livestock farmers are foreseen under both Pillar I (Direct Payments) and Pillar II (Rural Development Programme).
